HOW WE PICKED OUR NAME - "ANECHÓ"
When we started to approach coffee and the impact that it can have with others, we kept coming back to the fact that we so often share a cup of coffee with someone. Whether you need to share something difficult or something joyful, conversation and coffee go hand in hand. Sipping a warm cup of coffee is an easy way to digress when you’re still figuring out the right words to say. Chatting becomes easier when we have a warm cup to hold, and it even makes self reflection more enjoyable. This is why we chose the name- Anechó.
Anechó comes from Ephesians 4:2 in which it states: “with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love.” Anechó: Forbear, Forbearance [Verb] anecho “to hold up” (ana, “up,” echo, “to have or hold”), is used in the Middle Voice in the NT, signifying “to bear with, endure;” it is rendered “forbearing (one another)” in Ephesians 4:2. Bearing with and upholding one another as we share a cup of coffee is our focus, because caffeine and community is better together.
MEET NIKKI, OWNER & FOUNDER
Nikki has worked in the restaurant industry for over 10 years. Her love for coffee began as a young child and her memories are marked by her parents drinking coffee in the mornings. The smell permeated the house each morning as her dad made coffee for her mom. Eventually the morning ritual included her and her sister, and as the years passed they moved from Mr. Coffee to French Press, Chemex and everything in between. As Nikki’s interest in the coffee industry grew while she was in culinary school, she began to seek out new ways to make coffee and eventually became a barista herself. Since then, opening a coffee shop has been one of her life goals and remains so today. Anechó Coffee came out of that vision of opening a shop and along with her husband Brad, she set out on the journey of starting this Specialty Coffee Cart. Together they serve coffee and love to interact with all of the many people they encounter along the way.
